Students will visit the Archaeology Research Collections (ARC) at SMU. There, SMU archaeologists will show students materials from our collections. They will be able to see and touch real prehistoric artifacts found in Texas, and can ask archaeologists questions about history and the science of archaeology. Students also will get to make their own ceramic pot and learn about how prehistoric Native Americans made pottery. Their pot will be fired in a kiln at ARC, and then delivered to the student’s home 5-10 days after the party. The party should last 1-2 hours.
